Ahhhhhh, Summertime!!
Bare shoulders, poolside Refreshments, BBQ and large Hoop Earrings………I wish!!!
I had my ears pierced when I was 16 by a Medical Doctor, as that was the only way my Mom would allow my ears to be pierced. I do not like needles or any type of pain. I imagine I wiggled and squirmed a lot as he was not a Happy Doctor. As is the procedure, small studs are worn for 6 months to allow for healing and I followed all the proper procedures of the time.
It was not until many years later when I came to realize all the things wrong with the way my ears were pierced.
Both piercings are too low on my Earlobe, which means that wearing any type of Dangle or French Wire Earrings are unattractive. Next, the Directional Angle of my Right Earlobe piercing is “OFF” and Hoop Earrings are Out of the Question as the right Hoop hangs at an awkward angle, with the Hoop magnifying the wrongness.
I bet I am not the only person in the World who has these pierced ear issues.
My solution? I wear Post style Earrings with different shaped and sized “anchor” tops which cover the earlobe and have the Posts positioned to camouflage this flaw. Many of these Anchor Tops have connections to attach Dangles or Hoops or Chandelier style bottoms. With heavy earrings, it is always better to have an anchor top to help distribute the weight even if your pierced ears are perfectly pierced.
